About Maher

I am a 3rd year Environmental Engineering PhD student at Drexel University. I have been teaching students for 10 years. I have experience tutoring a wide array of science and math subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Physiology, Algebra, and Microbiology. I also tutor for college and grad school preparatory exams such as SAT, GRE, and MCAT. I have had countless students. Many have gone on to their preferred professional schools, including US medical schools.

In my field of Environmental Engineering, I apply my knowledge to research methods to treat wastewater and generate energy in the process. My research requires a broad knowledge across multiple fields, and I frequently train students in my lab.

About the lesson

I provide lessons to students from the secondary school to graduate level. My philosophy is simple. I believe any effective tutoring should explain even the most complex subjects in simple, understandable ways. Once difficult concepts have been explained in simple terms, a student will have the understanding and confidence to do well. For my lessons, I like to break down difficult concepts, and then continue to provide problems starting with easier problems and working up to more complex ones. Whenever a student is unable to complete a problem, I work with them through their thought process and show them exactly where they made the mistake. From repeated problems, my students learn how to apply concepts.

Depending on how far the travel is, my rate may increase. Also for exam prep my rate is higher depending on the level of the exam. 40/hr for college prep (SAT, ACT, SAT II, AP, etc), 50/hr for GRE, and 60/hr for MCAT
