About Ryan
I am a dual certified teacher in Social Studies and Business Information Computer Technology. I am also a lacrosse coach at a Prep school. I have given lessons in lacrosse and have done tutoring for in the academic realm. I have taught classroom sizes from 10 to 35 children. I have experience using MAC and Windows software. I have helped improve the Social Studies Testing with Terra Nova grades by 10 percent in my building. I also have incorporated Google Apps for Education from grades 5-8 in my building. Introducing something new to a school population is a fun and challenging task for me. I also have taught AP US Government and helped many students achieve the AP score needed for college credit.

I am a tech savvy teacher who believes in engaging students with multiple styles of learning. I have experience in flipped classroom methodology and initiated a flipped curriculum in my building. I strongly believe in differentiated Instruction incorporating writing, videos and other visual cues to help the mental organization and recall of information. It is important to build a rapport with each student to ensure a comfortable learning environment. I have experience with all ages and in both public and private settings. I have taught in block and standard scheduling type of classrooms. Having a detailed lesson plan with activities and prompts are something that is critical for my preparation for my students.
