About Avery
I am a certified, experienced high school math teacher who has worked with nearly 800 students over the last 6 years. I am passionate about mathematics and believe that everyone has the potential to be successful! I currently reside in Medellin, Colombia were I have most recently taught Algebra 1 at a bilingual American School.
I specialize in Algebra and SAT/ACT test preparation, but have experience working with students on all math subjects between pre-algebra and pre-calculus.
I have extensive experience working as a private tutor both online and in person and have helped many students improve and gain acceptance to their dream university or college.

To insure quality instruction, I prepare for each tutoring session as I would a class; making sure I use best teaching practices and make real-world connections to help each student truly understand the topic. I always help my students with organization and study-habits in addition to content instruction to make sure that they can improve additional academic areas not related to the tutoring subject as well.
