About Martin
I’m an Economics and Mandarin undergraduate at Durham University. I studied Physics, Maths, and Economics at A-level and achieved As in all of them. I’ve also served as Deputy Head Boy and was elected to the UK Youth Parliament, where I spoke in the House of Commons. I enjoy helping students feel confident with GCSE Maths and I keep my lessons straightforward, supportive, and focused on exam technique. If something doesn’t make sense, I’m always happy to slow down, explain it a different way, and answer any questions.

Coming from a family of teachers, I understand how much difference the right support can make. I enjoy Maths and aim to bring that enthusiasm into every lesson. I focus on strengthening weak areas, building confidence, and helping students push towards the top grades at their own pace. Lessons are usually an hour and follow a simple structure: • A quick recap of the previous session • Teaching or developing a key topic • Guided practice, then independent questions • Exam-style problems to build technique and accuracy I adjust each lesson based on how the student learns best and what they need most.
