About Mira
I have spent six dynamic years helping more than 190 students see the practical power and relevance of chemistry. My academic background includes a degree in chemical engineering and professional experience in process engineering at a major chemical manufacturing facility. This industrial perspective shapes my teaching with real examples of how chemical principles drive production, quality control, and environmental compliance. I have worked with students preparing for secondary examinations and university admissions in chemistry and chemical engineering. My students appreciate my ability to explain abstract concepts through industrial analogies and my enthusiasm for the role of chemistry in modern society. I am particularly skilled at helping students master the quantitative aspects of chemistry that are essential for engineering and industrial careers. I design custom problem sets based on real process data and industrial scenarios. Outside of teaching, I follow developments in green chemistry and sustainable manufacturing, consult on chemical education for industry, and enjoy cooking, which provides endless opportunities to discuss chemical transformations. I believe that chemistry is the central science of industry, and I am passionate about preparing students to contribute to a more sustainable chemical future.

My chemistry teaching is dynamic and industry-relevant, connecting classroom concepts to the chemical processes that power modern manufacturing and energy systems. For electrochemistry, I teach students to understand redox reactions, electrolysis, and electrochemical cells through the lens of batteries, fuel cells, and corrosion prevention. Industrial chemical processes are explored through case studies of Haber-Bosch ammonia production, petroleum refining, and polymer manufacturing. I emphasise the economic and environmental dimensions of chemistry, teaching students to evaluate processes for efficiency, sustainability, and safety. Chemical equilibrium is taught through industrial optimisation problems where students learn to apply Le Chatelier's principle to real manufacturing scenarios. I teach stoichiometry and thermodynamics with a focus on process calculations and energy balances. For exam preparation, I provide extensive practice with quantitative problems, industrial chemistry essays, and the precise use of chemical terminology. My lessons are fast-paced and interactive, with frequent questioning, real-world examples, and collaborative problem solving. I also introduce students to chemical engineering concepts and career pathways for those interested in industrial applications.
