About James

I am passionate about helping college students build strong piano skills while enjoying every lesson. With 17 years of experience, I create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore music with confidence.

My teaching style is supportive and adaptable. I understand that every student learns differently, so I design lessons that match individual goals and learning styles. I explain concepts in simple English and encourage active participation throughout every lesson.

I use innovative learning methods such as technology-assisted practice, ear training, rhythm exercises, listening activities, and customized song learning. These methods help students stay motivated while improving both technical and creative abilities.

Students learn note reading, scales, chords, finger coordination, posture, rhythm, and expressive playing. I provide constructive feedback and practical guidance that helps students continue improving with every lesson.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is centered on communication, creativity, flexibility, and supportive guidance. I believe every student deserves personalized lessons that make learning enjoyable and rewarding. I encourage students to develop both technical ability and a true appreciation for music.

Students first develop proper posture, hand coordination, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. As they gain confidence, they progress to scales, chords, dynamics, articulation, pedal techniques, expressive playing, sight reading, and stage performance.

Every lesson includes demonstrations, listening activities, revision, and practical exercises. Students receive constructive feedback and customized practice plans that encourage consistent improvement.

Students also strengthen creativity through improvisation, accompaniment, and learning music from different styles.

Besides piano, I teach keyboard, ear training, rhythm exercises, music theory, sight reading, beginner composition, music appreciation, and performance preparation.

My goal is to help students enjoy every lesson while achieving their musical ambitions.
