About Wilf
I took my A-levels in French, Economics and Maths in summer 2019 where I managed too achieve A* A* A. Furthermore, I achieved 10 A*s and an A at GCSE in a variety of subjects. I have a profound interest in both economics and French which has allowed me to thoroughly enjoy engaging in these lessons, therefore gaining a strong understanding of how best to learn these subjects. I am a chatty, logical and enthusiastic tutor who really wants to see his tutees increase their understanding of the content, as wells as confidence in how to tackle questions, for both these subjects. I have just finished my first year studying Economics and Finance at Bristol University.

My teaching approach is to first of all gain an understanding of what areas of a subject my tutee is finding the most difficult, whether it is a specific discipline or a certain topic/ group of topics (e.g. financial markets in macroeconomics).
Next I will ensure that the content for the specific topic(s) highlighted by the tutee is fully covered and understood through a variety of discussions, walkthroughs and lots of questions on the tutee's part.
Finally, I will put what we have covered to the test and help my tutee work on applying their increased understanding and knowledge to questions both short and long. There will be a large focus on technique during this part of the lesson. These questions for economics tutees will aim to incorporate knowledge, application, analysis and evaluation so that we can work on building highly succinct answers to the questions being tackled. For French tutees, we will aim to focus on the specific discipline which the tutee is less confident with by answering questions and then immediately after there will be time to ask technical questions or ask for clarification.
