About Sayantani
Hello! I'm Dr Sayantani (Tani) Ghosh, an Economist based in England with a PhD in Economics from the University of Reading.
I have over eight years of teaching experience, helping students in the UK and internationally at school, college and university levels. My expertise includes Economics, Business Studies, Managerial Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Methods, Research Methods and Data Analysis. I can also help students develop practical skills in Stata, LaTeX, Excel and other analytical tools commonly used in academic study and research.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have spent over twelve years working on academic research projects and specialise in Development Economics, Experimental Economics and Applied Microeconomics. I am passionate about helping students gain confidence in subjects that often seem challenging at first, making complex concepts easier to understand through clear explanations and practical examples.
My goal is not simply to help students find the right answers, but to help them understand the underlying concepts and develop the skills to solve problems independently.

My lessons are tailored to the individual needs, goals and learning style of each student. I believe that strong understanding begins with clear foundations, so I focus on explaining concepts step by step before moving on to more advanced applications.
I use practical examples, current events and real-world scenarios to make topics more engaging and easier to understand. Students are encouraged to ask questions freely, and I aim to create a friendly, supportive and interactive learning environment where they feel comfortable learning at their own pace.
Lessons can focus on exam preparation, coursework support, problem-solving practice, dissertation guidance, research methods, data analysis or software training. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop their confidence, analytical thinking and independent learning skills.
