About Vratha
As a student myself, till the age of 12, I used to dread Mathematics; it used to scare me like no other subject. It is later, when I happened to be taught maths by the right teacher, who suited my style of learning, that I found the right way to study maths. At that time I had never imagined that I would further pursue a degree with such heavy mathematics. Thus, I strongly believe that maths is tough when we have not discovered what way of learning suits us; once we discover that, it need not be that much of a task. My aim and motivation to teach Mathematics is I want students to like the subject the way I did in my school days. Hoping to be of help to all those who feel they do not understand the subject!!

Having previous experience in teaching in an NGO, I believe that students should understand the concept first; solving a problem is not the end goal. Finding the solution and being able to apply it to other problems is what maths is all about. I will primarily concentrate on the concept rather than jumping directly to problem-solving. Having completed my MSc Economics from the University of Warwick itself shows my competence in the subject as my degree was heavily based on quantitative Statistics and Econometrics. I prefer teaching students up to their secondary level or year 11, as I believe my concepts are the strongest from my education during those years. Can also try to teach students above that age group, just need to know the syllabus beforehand.
