About Sophie

Hi! I am currently a freshman at East Carolina University majoring in Elementary Education. I have always loved working with children and hope to become a second-grade teacher in the future. During my senior year of high school, I participated in the Teacher Cadet program, where I spent time in a second-grade classroom helping students with lessons, assignments, and activities. I also have experience working with children through my previous job as a gymnastics instructor. These experiences have helped me become patient, responsible, and understanding of different learning styles. I love helping children learn new things and watching their confidence grow. My goal is to make every student feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn!

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for elementary school students who need extra help with reading, math, or other subjects. I focus on making learning fun, simple, and engaging while helping students feel more confident. I like to start by understanding what each student struggles with and then use practice activities, examples, and step-by-step explanations to help them improve. Through my Teacher Cadet experience, I have learned how to work with different learning styles and adjust my teaching to fit each student's needs. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
