About Jo
I absolutely love teaching because I am able to help students to find a way to learn that suits them and works to their strength.
When I was at school I struggled with the methods of revising and learning that they were providing which meant that I didn't get the best grades at school. I found out at University that I had Dyslexia which was why I'd found learning so challenging. My university supported me and provided a mentor for me who helped me to structure my assignments and revise in a way that suited me. I got a 2:1 in my subject with this support, when for the same subject at A-level I got an E.
I've learned how important 1:1 work is in order to find which method(s) of learning work for you, and so I love being able to be a part of making that happen!

My lessons will be in a relaxed style and will work to the strengths of the student. The sessions will help the student to find methods of studying and revising that suit them and their learning style. I have worked with young people individually and in groups in a variety of settings including working with children who have additional needs and young people in pupil referral units. I currently work as a youth coordinator where I teach courses and run youth groups for those aged 11+.
My lessons will typically last 1 hour, but if you would prefer a different time I can happily accommodate.
Most of my experience is in working with those aged 11+, but I can be flexible and I am more than happy to work with those of any ability.
