My approach focuses on building a strong conceptual foundation through consistent practice, patience, and real-world applications. I believe every student can improve their learning skills with the right guidance, encouragement, and willingness to succeed. I work to identify areas of difficulty, break down complex topics into manageable steps, and reinforce understanding through guided examples and independent practice. I also connect mathematical concepts to everyday situations and potential careers to help students develop a deeper appreciation for the subject in relation to their own goals and aspirations.
A typical lesson plan begins with a brief review of previously covered material, introducing or revisiting the main topic, working through examples step by step and discussing different problem-solving strategies. Students practice problems with my guidance before moving on to independent exercises and each lesson concludes with a review of key concepts, clarification of any remaining questions, and recommendations for continued practice.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my emphasis on patience, consistency, and practical understanding. With over two years of experience teaching students from elementary through high school, I recognize that every student learns differently. I adapt my explanations and teaching techniques to each student's needs, helping them build confidence rather than simply memorizing, and aim to make challenging topics more approachable while showing students how math connects to real-life situations and their future academic goals.
Lessons are designed for elementary, middle school, and high school students with a focus on individual topics and/or exam prep to develop the skills, confidence, and independent problem-solving abilities needed for long-term success.
