About George

I am an electric bass and double bass player and teacher living in London. I’m currently in my final year studying jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, alongside maintaining a busy gigging schedule. I have recorded at Abbey Road Studios, appeared at venues including Pizza Express Jazz Club and Woolwich Works and festivals such as We Out Here and Swanage Jazz Festival. I was also a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, touring with singer Tommy Blaize who is best known as the voice of Strictly. I’m lucky enough to get to perform a huge range of music, with my gigs spanning a wide range of genres including jazz, rock, blues, pop, musical theatre and even electronic dance music. I have also recieved the Licentiate of the Royal Acadmemy of Music teaching qualification.

About the lesson

I am passionate about taking my students’ playing to the next level by exploring music they are interested in as well as expanding their musical horizons. I also believe in ensuring my students have a strong technical foundation on the instrument to prevent injury and set them up for long-term success. Owing to my busy gigging portfolio that includes a wide range of genres on both electric and double bass I am able to tailor lessons to my students’ needs, whatever their interests and ambitions may be. My studies at the Royal Academy of Music also mean I have a wealth of experience in preparing for auditions and exams.
