About Jordan
I am a college student majoring in Elementary Education, with a strong foundation in effective teaching strategies and child-centered learning. My academic training focuses on how students learn best, allowing me to explain concepts clearly, patiently, and at an age-appropriate level. I approach tutoring with professionalism, organization, and a genuine commitment to student growth.
I believe that confidence is key to academic success. My goal is to help students feel capable and supported by breaking lessons into clear steps, encouraging questions, and providing consistent positive feedback. I tailor each lesson to the individual learner, adjusting my approach to meet their needs and learning style.
I maintain a respectful, structured, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Families can expect reliable communication, preparedness for each session, and a thoughtful approach to helping students build both skills and confidence.
My tutoring services are best suited for elementary-level students (grades K–5) who need additional support in mathematics, reading and literacy, social studies, homework help, or general study skills. Lessons are designed to reinforce classroom learning, strengthen understanding, and reduce academic stress.

Teaching method & techniques
My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I focus on breaking concepts down into simple, manageable steps and explaining them in ways that make sense to each learner. I use clear examples, guided practice, and positive feedback to help students build confidence, not just correct answers. Mistakes are part of the learning process, and I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
A typical lesson plan
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in to understand what the student is working on and what feels challenging. We then review the topic together using examples and visuals when helpful. I guide the student through practice problems or reading strategies, gradually encouraging them to try independently. At the end of the lesson, we review what was learned and highlight progress, so students leave feeling successful and motivated.
What sets me apart as a tutor
As an Elementary Education major, I am trained to think about how students learn, not just what they learn. I emphasize patience, clear explanations, and adapting lessons to different learning styles. I focus on building confidence and reducing stress around schoolwork, especially for students who feel overwhelmed or unsure of themselves.
