About Madelyn
My name is Maddie, and I am currently teaching at a DOD school in Kansas. I hold my degree from Benedictine College in Elementary Education, and I am currently in the process of being certified for my teaching license (only one form to go!).
I have years of experience teaching and tutoring. From the time I was in high school until now, the majority of the jobs I have held were working with children in an educational or care scenario.
This life brings me infinite joy, and I love returning to teaching every single day!! I am happy to provide letters of reference for potential clients, but I assure you, I hold myself to the highest standards and want the absolute best for you and your students.

All students learn in different ways, and I aim to find out what each of them needs to succeed! I have experience and am comfortable working with students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADD, Autism, and more!
I believe students need to be engaged at every point in order to learn and grow, and I teach from a constructivist philosophy. This I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in every step of the process, are given ways to activate and make connections to their prior knowledge and experiences, and can gets their hands on every aspect of learning.
In a typical lesson plan for my class (I teach 3rd grade currently), I typically include a review of previous material, some direct instruction, a discussion of new material, and an exploration of the topic by the student.
I am comfortable teaching elementary and middle school students, and I am open to high school as well!
