About Linnea
With 8 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am a passionate violin tutor dedicated to helping students develop technical mastery, creativity, and confidence.
I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the highlights of my career has been seeing students grow from uncertain beginners into confident performers capable of playing with technical skill, expression, and emotion.
My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a complete and well-rounded understanding of music.
Lessons are personalised to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to create technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians.
Lessons are structured to combine technical skill development, creative projects, improvisation, and performance practice, fully customised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style.
Motivation drives growth. I help students set realistic goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements, building perseverance, engagement, and self-confidence. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and collaborative, allowing students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is integrated throughout every lesson. Improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises allow students to explore their personal artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, fostering habits that ensure consistent progress and long-term excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a comprehensive musical education.
