Mary and I have known each other for almost 10 years. She was my undergraduate English teacher, and although we graduated a long time ago, we still keep in touch. When I was her student, she would give her students speaking lessons twice a week, and the content of the speaking lessons would be close to real-life experiences and social situations. She would always encourage us to express ourselves in English boldly! Even if we stumbled so much in English at the beginning of the lessons, she would listen very patiently and then correct some of our expressions.

In addition to communicating with us during class, she also initiated an English corner and provided us with more opportunities to speak English after class, and so she selflessly created an environment for us to speak English more often. Although she was in a foreign country at that time, she was very happy to learn about our local culture, and we had a great mentor-mentee relationship. A very good and patient tutor with a standard pronunciation! I have been practicing my spoken English with her for many years since I was a child. When I was awkward for some expressions, she can always get my point and tell me the right words. Highly recommended!
