About Megan
I am a dedicated elementary educator with a strong passion for helping young learners grow both academically and personally. I bring experience working with early elementary students and understand the importance of building a strong foundation in reading, writing, and math. My background in education has equipped me with effective strategies to support a wide range of learning needs while keeping students engaged and motivated.
I am known for creating a warm, positive, and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions. I believe that strong relationships are key to student success, and I work hard to ensure each child feels supported, capable, and proud of their progress.
As a professional, I am reliable, organized, and committed to clear communication with families. I take the time to understand each student’s unique strengths and areas for growth, and I tailor my instruction to meet their individual needs. My goal is not only to help students improve their skills, but also to build their confidence and independence as learners.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working out, listening to podcasts, reading, and relaxing with a good TV show. These interests help me stay balanced and bring positive energy into my teaching.
Parents can feel confident that their child will receive high-quality, thoughtful instruction in a safe and encouraging environment. I am committed to helping every student reach their full potential while making learning a positive and enjoyable experience.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on building both skills and confidence in a supportive, engaging environment. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and actively involved in their learning. My teaching style is warm and encouraging, while still maintaining clear expectations so students stay focused and continue to grow.
I use a mix of explicit instruction, guided practice, and hands-on, interactive activities to help students truly understand concepts rather than just memorize them. I also incorporate games, discussion, and real-life connections to keep students engaged—especially for younger learners who benefit from movement and variety. I consistently check for understanding and adjust my instruction in the moment to meet each student’s needs.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review or warm-up to build confidence and activate prior knowledge. From there, I introduce or model a new skill in a clear, simple way. Students then practice the skill with support before moving into more independent work. I always include opportunities for feedback, reflection, and celebration of progress to keep students motivated.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance fun with structure. I create a positive learning environment where students enjoy coming to sessions, but also understand that effort and growth are expected. I focus on helping students become more independent learners by encouraging self-assessment, goal setting, and perseverance. I also prioritize building strong relationships, which helps students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions.
My tutoring is best suited for early elementary students, particularly in reading, writing, and foundational math. I support students who may need extra help building core skills, as well as those who would benefit from additional practice and confidence-building. I am especially passionate about working with young learners to create strong academic foundations that will support their long-term success.
