Ben tutored my 12 yr son for last year and I found him listening very good and giving good advise. He would encourage my son to always practice at home and would show him how the song is played. For a professional tutor, Ben's musical experience is unparalleled. Not only is he educated at the highest level --having attended the Royal Academy he is part of a select few musicians worldwide to reach this technical level -- he has also achieved a great deal professionally: he's played every sought after venue a musician would want to: Hyde Park, the main stage at Glastonbury, Abbey Road etc. Then there's the albums he's released. Evidently, as a result, he's very used to adapting to a variety of different musical contexts; in the few times I've had lessons from Ben, he's offered exactly what I need in that moment, and given me tools to experiment with that have occupied me for months after. He is patient, non-judgemental and fundamentally seems to enjoy nurturing your musical development. I would presume this comes from his general love of music. His brain is a mine for exceptional songs and artists, too, which is another wonderful aspect of his lessons.
