About Rowan
My journey in engineering began with a fascination for structures, machines, and the way technical solutions shape human life. This led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, which provided both the theoretical foundation and practical experience necessary to understand complex systems. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students at various levels, helping them build confidence, develop practical problem-solving skills, and gain mastery over core engineering concepts.
I strongly believe that teaching engineering is about making the complex understandable. My approach focuses on patient guidance, real-world examples, interactive exercises, and step-by-step explanations that allow students to grasp challenging ideas without feeling overwhelmed. I encourage active participation, experimentation, and reflective learning to nurture both competence and curiosity. Lessons are always structured to build knowledge progressively while allowing students to explore their own creative problem-solving abilities.
Beyond teaching, I remain deeply engaged in engineering projects, technical research, and innovations in design and construction. This enables me to bring practical insights and contemporary examples into the classroom, making learning relevant and inspiring. Witnessing students evolve from hesitant beginners to confident problem-solvers who can analyze, design, and implement solutions independently is the most rewarding aspect of my career. Seeing their curiosity grow alongside their skills continually motivates me to refine my teaching methods and provide lessons that are both educational and deeply meaningful.

Engineering becomes an exciting subject when students connect theoretical principles to real-world applications. My lessons focus on providing a solid understanding of mechanics, structural analysis, materials science, thermodynamics, and applied problem-solving strategies. By connecting abstract ideas to practical situations, I ensure learners develop both understanding and confidence while progressing through increasingly complex topics.
Intermediate learners explore design methodology, analytical calculations, construction simulations, and the use of modern software for engineering analysis. Advanced learners engage with project-based learning, problem modeling, optimization techniques, and experimental validation. I emphasize independent thinking, creativity, and iterative learning so students can approach technical problems thoughtfully and confidently. Each session is interactive, combining explanation, guided practice, and real-world case studies that reinforce the principles being taught while fostering curiosity and practical insight.
Engineering lessons develop students’ analytical reasoning, practical problem-solving, and creative thinking beyond the classroom. Learners gain the ability to evaluate challenges, implement innovative solutions, and understand the functional implications of design decisions. Over time, they become confident in their technical skills and capable of approaching engineering tasks independently. My goal is to foster not only competence but also curiosity, resilience, and an appreciation for how engineering shapes society and everyday life.
