About Rohan

Welcome! My name is Rohan Powar and I am passionate about helping students excel in Maths and Physics. With a solid academic background and a dedication to teaching, I aim to inspire confidence and foster a love for learning in my students.

I am an Engineering Graduate with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College Cork, where I achieved the distinction of graduating 1st in my class. My rigorous education has equipped me with a deep understanding of mathematical and physical principles, which I am eager to share with my students.

I bring several years of tutoring experience to the table, specializing in Leaving Cert Maths and Physics. My teaching methodology is centered around the individual needs of each student. By tailoring lessons to address specific challenges and build on existing strengths, I ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. My approach combines conceptual understanding, practical applications, and regular assessments to track progress and keep students motivated.

Each session is designed to be interactive and informative, typically lasting between 60 to 90 minutes. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging problems.

My goal is to help students not only achieve their academic targets but also develop critical thinking skills and a passion for the subjects. Whether you are aiming to improve your grades, need help with specific topics, or want to excel in your exams, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Join me on this educational journey, and together, we can achieve excellence in Maths and Physics. Contact me today to schedule your first lesson!

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:

I believe in a student-centered approach to tutoring, which means adapting my teaching methods to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student. My techniques include:

Conceptual Understanding: Emphasizing the importance of understanding the fundamental concepts before moving on to more complex problems.
Interactive Learning: Encouraging active participation through problem-solving, discussions, and hands-on activities to reinforce learning.
Practical Applications: Demonstrating how mathematical and physical concepts apply to real-world scenarios, making the subjects more relatable and interesting.
Regular Assessments: Conducting regular quizzes and mock exams to track progress and identify areas needing improvement.
Customized Lesson Plans: Tailoring lessons to focus on the student's weak points while reinforcing their strengths.
Typical Length of a Lesson:

Each tutoring session typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. This duration is sufficient to cover new material, review homework, and address any questions or difficulties the student may have. For more intensive study periods, especially closer to exams, longer sessions can be arranged.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:

I hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College Cork, where I graduated 1st in my class. My academic background ensures a deep understanding of the subjects I teach. Additionally, I have several years of experience tutoring Leaving Cert Maths and Physics, helping numerous students achieve their academic goals. My experience in both one-on-one and group settings has equipped me with the skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and foster a supportive learning environment.

Who Are My Lessons For:

My lessons are designed for secondary school students preparing for their Leaving Certificate exams in Maths and Physics. This typically includes students aged 15 to 18. Whether you're a struggling student needing extra help or a high-achiever aiming for top marks, my tutoring services can provide the support and guidance you need to succeed.
