My tutoring approach for 3rd and 5th graders focuses on creating a positive, engaging, and personalized learning experience. The goal is to foster both academic understanding and a love for learning.
ex. Building a Strong Foundation: A solid grasp of foundational concepts is prioritized. For math, extra time might be spent on number sense and operations. Reading involves focusing on phonics and sight words.
Active Learning and Participation: Interactive methods like games, puzzles, and hands-on activities are used.
Differentiation and Personalized Learning: The approach is tailored to individual learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and adjusted accordingly. Visuals like diagrams or models may be used for visual learners, verbal discussions for auditory learners, and hands-on activities or movement for kinesthetic learners.
Encouraging Questions and Critical Thinking: Students are encouraged to ask questions. Critical thinking is fostered by asking open-ended questions and encouraging exploration of different solutions.
