First I try to know how much my students already know so that I know where to start from and teach them basic concepts first. Let them solve new problems first so that they learn how to think and approach the new problems. If they get stuck problems clear there doubts. Instead of just letting mugging up methods they should develop problem solving approach so that they don't get stuck in school exams or even olympiads
