About Heather
During my career I have taught in state and independent schools. I am trained to teach food, textiles and EAL. I have also taken bookings to teach students English in my home and via skype. I have taught many nationalities including Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Italian, German and French. Over the past two years I have taught business English to French personnel via a phone in their various offices. I have taught 1:1, 2:1 and small groups. Students feel more confident at the end of their courses and achieve the next level on the CEF chart. I prepare them to take exams from level B1 and above. This can be added to their C.V. to enable them to apply for jobs that require English.
As a food tutor I am happy to teach you the basics of cookery so you can survive on a budget whilst studying at university or follow more complex recipes. If you have a particular aspect of cooking you are interested in e.g. baking or international cuisine, please ask. I am happy to send my C.V. and references together with a photo if required.

I am able to teach English to young learners and adults from beginners to advanced level. Using English for real world situations and learning by role play make my lessons fun and interesting. Learning about British culture to prepare for citizenship tests is another area I can help with. Using idioms and British phrases to help international students understand the use of language will make the learner more confident. If you prefer I can teach via Skype. I can offer practical culinary lessons and also teach you food hygiene before you take an online exam. A certificate in food hygiene means you will be able to work with food in many careers. My teaching career has spanned 30 years and I am keen to continue to pass on my subject knowledge to help you achieve your goals.
