English and Spanish Tutor Spanish teacher at Walthamstow - Caitlin - Walthamstow

Caitlin helped me learn Spanish as I was going traveling to South America and wanted to get a handle on some basic phrases and learn some colloquial language. I also wanted to learn for work purposes. Caitlin was my tutor for 6 months, in this time she was consistent, dedicated and made learning really fun. It was clear that Caitlin isn't just a tutor for a job but she actually has a passion for languages, she would take the time to explain things in great detail and would often use humorous and interesting examples. In the past, learning a new language has always been a bit of a nightmare as I always feel like I can't express myself properly and feel stupid, but I didn't feel like that at all learning with Caitlin. I loved how she taught me unusual idioms/phrases and slang, when I used these while traveling it allowed me to build rapport with the natives - a lot of whom then became good friends!

As well as teaching great content and being a fun tutor, Caitlin pointed me in the direction of some great resources, and tips for outside of the classroom, for example, recommendations for Apps and websites to use for practice.

Caitlin has just graduated from Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in Spanish and Linguistics, with first class honours and a distinction in spoken Spanish. As well as being her course leader, I taught her Spanish language at various levels and a module on Translation in the Professional World. Caitlin was an outstanding student, highly knowledgeable in both subjects and committed to excellence in everything she did. She is blessed not only with a good ear for languages, but also with an instinct for the construction and deconstruction of grammar, which has served her well in explaining language structure to the students she has taught thus far. Caitlin is also a delightful person - charming, friendly, patient and unfailingly courteous. I recommended her to you without hesitation, as a person who will work professionally and empathetically to get the best out of her tutees.
