About Emma

I am a passionate individual, excited to share my passion to my students. Studying for English exams can be difficult, but my enthusiasm and patient approach to teaching aims to educate and excite students to better their grades and studying experience.

About the lesson

I structure my lessons to cater to the needs of the individual. As a previous self-employed tutor and certified RYA sailing instructor, I have trained experience with many young people. For English lessons, any student beginning or enduring their studies of GCSE or A-Level English Literature are ideal. Lessons are recommended to be an hour long, to allow for enough time to discuss content and the previous work set, undergo new tasks, and reflect over the lesson and work for next week. Content for lessons will include: - discussing what the student has covered at school during the week. -building on their existing knowledge, and challenging memory. -practising exam-specific exercises including extract questions, essay writing, and reciting quotations and textual information. -feedback and grading on homework/in-lesson work.
