About Asma

English has always been my favourite subject—it’s where I found my voice, learnt to think critically, and discovered the power of stories to connect, challenge, and inspire. That love for literature and language is what led me to become a qualified English teacher, and now, as a tutor, I’m committed to helping students unlock their own potential through the subject. I’ve taught across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA and Edexcel), and I specialise in supporting a wide range of learners, including those with SEN and EAL needs. My lessons are personalised, purposeful, and rooted in the belief that every student deserves to feel confident in their abilities. I provide resources to support my students in whatever they need. I want my students to see English not just as an exam subject, but as a tool for expression, empowerment, and success—both in school and beyond. Whether your goal is to build your confidence, improve your grades, or learn to love reading and writing, I’m here to support and challenge you every step of the way.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centred, focused on building confidence, developing independent thinking, and tailoring lessons to your individual needs. I use scaffolded support, modelling, and active questioning to help students engage with challenging content—particularly in English, where I support analytical writing, comprehension, and exam preparation. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include guided practice, discussion, and reflection. I’m a qualified English teacher with experience across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE (AQA and Edexcel), and I’ve worked with mixed-ability, SEN, and EAL learners. I tutor students aged 11–16, whether they need support, exam preparation, or challenge.
