About Sindhuja
My name is Sindhuja and I am a dedicated Early Years and Phonics specialist with a genuine passion for helping young children discover the joy of reading and learning. I hold a Bachelor's degree in English, have undertaken postgraduate studies in Psychology, and have completed multiple certifications in Early Years (EYFS) — all of which underpin my deep understanding of how young children learn, develop, and grow.
Over the past 2.5 years, I have had the privilege of working with children aged 3–7, guiding them through the exciting early stages of literacy. From children taking their very first steps with letter sounds to those preparing for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, I have supported learners at every stage of their phonics journey with patience, care, and expertise.
I take a child-led, multisensory approach to every lesson, using a rich blend of flashcards, songs and rhymes, interactive games, storytelling, and hands-on activities to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I firmly believe that when a child feels safe, seen, and supported, their confidence flourishes — and confident children become capable, enthusiastic learners.
My lessons are fully aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the KS1 National Curriculum, and I am well-versed in both the EYFS Progress Check and the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check assessment criteria. Parents can feel reassured that their child's progress is always being measured against the highest educational standards.
I offer sessions both online and in-person, with flexible lesson lengths tailored to suit each individual child. My ultimate goal is simple — to give every child I work with the strongest, most joyful start to their lifelong love of learning.

My tutoring style is child-led, nurturing, and highly interactive. I believe that young children learn best when they are having fun, so every lesson is carefully designed to be engaging, stimulating, and age-appropriate. I combine a rich variety of techniques to keep little learners motivated and excited about reading, including flashcards and visual aids, songs and rhymes, worksheets and activities, online tools and games, and storytelling with books. This multisensory approach ensures that every child — regardless of their learning style — can absorb and retain new phonics skills effectively.
Lesson Structure & Length
I understand that every child is different, which is why my lesson lengths are fully flexible and tailored to each child's age, attention span, and individual needs. Younger children in Early Years and Reception may benefit from shorter, more frequent sessions, while KS1 children can typically sustain longer focused learning. Together with parents, I create a schedule that works best for your child.
How I Teach
I offer lessons both online and in-person, giving families maximum flexibility. Online sessions are delivered via interactive platforms that keep children engaged through the screen, while in-person lessons allow for hands-on, tactile learning experiences that young children truly thrive on.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for children aged 3–7 years, covering Early Years, Reception, and Key Stage 1. Whether your child is just beginning to recognise letters and sounds, working towards the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, or needs extra confidence and support with early reading, I am here to help every step of the way.
Qualifications & Experience
With a Bachelor's degree in English, further studies in Psychology, multiple EYFS certifications, and 2.5 years of hands-on experience teaching young children, I bring both the knowledge and the passion needed to make a real difference in your child's early learning journey.
