• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I take Social Science and English classes. Having experience of more than 5 years in this field, I can safely say that I plan and teach in a way that improves the knowledge bandwidth of the student. I developed an interest in this area when I saw my friends struggle with the basics of certain subjects because of their teacher's teaching methodology. Over time, I decided to pursue a career in teaching and tried to make a change in a way that students don't run away from books but become keen learners.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My Mother is the motivation behind my choice to teach. I have always excelled at studies because she made my basic educational foundation very strong laying stress on creative and logical thinking.

• How does your work help society?

  I focus on making my students rational thinkers and good human beings. I also make sure to help some of the underprivileged students in gaining access to quality education.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  Ratan Tata is my role model for whatever I do in life. Sounds odd but the way he is always innovating and contributing to India's development endeavours is outstanding. I would want to create such an environment for students that nobody has to go out for jobs. They can become job creators and make India proud.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I like to sing. I take music classes on weekends. I also like to paint. Cooking something apart from regular food is also something I really enjoy.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  I remember I was in class 10 when our Social Science teacher met with an accident and could not take classes for 20 days. Board exams were just 2 months away. So, I created assignments for all my classmates and taught in the class for those 20 days. All my friends were so happy with the way I taught so many lessons in such a short duration that they informed our school principal and I was awarded a prize from the school.
