About Özden
I have been a Native Speaker in both Turkish and English since I was born as the bilingual child of a translator mother. :)
After I graduated from Foreign Language Department of Şirinyer Anatolian High School with first degree, I studied English Language and Literature at Kocaeli University and Muğla University. I was exempted from preparatory education by passing the Prep Class exemption exam with full marks at both universities. During this time, I had the chance to meet with my students by giving private lessons and group lessons at institutions providing language education both in Kocaeli and Muğla.

While I was translating from English to Turkish (or from Turkish to English), I had the chance to see more clearly the differences between the basic syntax of the languages and to understand where new learners of the target language might be confused. In this way, I enabled each of my students to grasp the logic of the language more efficiently.
On the other hand, "I can understand but I am not able to speak" nightmare was remained. This was the hardest taboo for every student who started learning a new language in our country, but with a teacher who does not dictate, not only to correct mistakes, but also to guide the student in order to help the student learn correctly and effectively, my students were able to save themselves from this handicap.
I helped each of them to understand that not being able to speak was not their fault, because the teachers, that once taught them English, were using traditional methods in foreign language teaching. When they saw the reality, they started speaking more fluently than ever before.
Yes, in the age we live in, learning at least one foreign language may have become a necessity, but at the same time, language learning is an extremely enjoyable journey. And I always have an extra ticket for you :)
