About Maya
I am an English Literature third-year at Cambridge University, and will be continuing on there at Jesus College for an MPhil in Digital Humanities, which is being funded by Jesus College and the Cambridge Trust.
I achieved D1 at English A-Level, and a first in Part I of the English tripos at Cambridge, being awarded at the Leonard Conolly prize for the best performance in Part I.
I am personable and passionate about my students enjoying the subject, and wholeheartedly believe that a warmness between teacher and student is indispensable to that. I would be more than happy to meet / Zoom prospective students before a first lesson in order to get to know them and for them to get to know me.

I believe in personalising the curriculum to a student's interests...even if they are yet to be discovered. I offer one hour lessons which can range from textual analysis (unseen), textual analysis (pre-seen), essay feedback and speaking/reading mock tests for English as a foreign language (e.g. ILETs practice). I teach the latter weekly at Abbey Lee college, and teach poetry to refugees t through the charity, Alsama. I have taught English literature at 11+, Year 9, GCSE and at A-Level/Pre-U standard.
