About Robert
I'm a former award-nominated print journalist, who returned to teaching after six years working at national and regional newspapers in the UK. I have previously tutored English language to students preparing their GCSE English language exams in the UK and I have also worked as an English language assistant, providing support to ESL Students at secondary school and college level in France. I graduated with an upper second class honors (2:1) in English Literature and French from the University of Manchester in 2018. My dissertation explored the formation of Canadian national identity in the works of Margaret Atwood.

I emphasize facilitation-focused teaching during my lessons, guiding students to reach answers of their own accord through activities and discussions. I encourage my students to think critically and support their progress by providing resources to work through and questions to help them think through new concepts. My lessons can be tailored to secondary school and college level.
