About Prerna
I am Prerna Sharma, a passionate and devoted English teacher with a deep-rooted love for language and literature. My academic journey in English has shaped me into an educator who does not just teach the subject — I live and breathe it.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in English Literature, and my academic pursuits led me to write a dissertation on Freud's concept of the Uncanny — a work that reflects my ability to think critically, analytically and creatively. This strong literary foundation is something I carry into every single class I teach.
Over the past 2 years of school teaching experience, I have worked with learners across age groups and ability levels, helping them grow from hesitant beginners into confident, articulate English users. I have seen shy students find their voice, struggling readers discover the joy of books, and reluctant writers surprise themselves with beautiful compositions — and those moments are what drive me every single day.
I believe that English is not just a subject to be studied — it is a life skill to be mastered. Whether it is speaking with confidence, writing with clarity or reading with understanding, I guide my students with patience, structure and genuine care.
My teaching is warm yet rigorous, encouraging yet honest. I celebrate every small win my students achieve, while always pushing them gently toward their next milestone.
When you learn with me, you are not just getting a tutor — you are getting a mentor who is truly invested in your growth.

As a teacher with a Master's degree in English Literature and a deep academic background — including a dissertation on Freud's concept of the Uncanny — I bring both intellectual depth and genuine warmth to every class. My goal is simple: to make English feel less like a subject and more like a superpower.
Teaching Techniques & Methods
I believe no two learners are the same, so I never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. My sessions draw from:
Activity-based learning to keep students curious and engaged
Story-led grammar — teaching rules through context, not rote memorization
Socratic questioning to encourage critical and independent thinking
Literary analysis techniques adapted even for younger learners to build comprehension depth
Regular feedback and correction done gently and constructively, building confidence rather than hesitation
Typical Class Structure
Every session is purposeful and paced thoughtfully:
Warm-up — A short conversation, word game or reading exercise to activate the mind
Core Learning — The main concept for the day, taught with examples and discussion
Practice — Writing, speaking or comprehension exercises tailored to the student's level
Wrap-up & Feedback — Recap of what was covered, corrections, and a small take-home task to reinforce learning
What Makes Me Different
A strong academic foundation in English Literature gives my teaching a richness that goes beyond textbooks
My background in Freudian literary theory sharpens my ability to teach critical thinking, reading between the lines, and analytical writing — skills that set students apart
I combine curriculum goals with real-world language skills, so students don't just pass exams — they actually communicate better
Patient, encouraging and deeply invested in each student's individual progress
Online sessions designed to feel personal, interactive and never boring
Who Are My Classes For?
My classes are open to a wide range of learners:
Young Learners — Kindergarten (LKG & UKG) through Class 5, focusing on phonics, reading, basic writing and spoken confidence
Middle Schoolers — Classes 6 to 8, building grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and creative writing skills
Senior Students — Classes 9 to 12, with focused preparation for board exams, essay writing and literary appreciation
All Boards Welcome — CBSE, ICSE, State Board and International curricula
Whether your child is just beginning to read or preparing for board exams, I am here to guide them with patience, expertise and a true love for the English language.
