About Rachana
Hi, I’m Rachana!
I’m an A* English Literature student and an incoming undergraduate at LSE, where I’ll be studying Politics and International Relations.
I achieved Grade 9s in both GCSE English Literature and English Language, before going on to achieve an A* in A-Level English Literature. Having recently completed these exams myself, I understand the challenges students face and what it takes to achieve the highest grades.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I believe the best lessons are ones where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their own ideas and learning from mistakes.
Whether you’re struggling with the basics or aiming for an A/A*, I’ll work with you to help you reach your individual goals.

I offer friendly, personalised GCSE and A-Level English Literature lessons, tailored to each student’s strengths, weaknesses and goals.
Having achieved an A* in English Literature A-level and grade 9s in both English language and literature GCSE, I understand first-hand what is required to achieve top grades.
I focus on making English feel clear, engaging and manageable, rather than overwhelming. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and combine discussion, close analysis, essay planning and exam technique.
I’ll help you develop stronger arguments, analyse quotations in depth, structure essays effectively and understand exactly how to turn your ideas into marks.
I teach students of different abilities, whether you’re looking to build confidence, improve a grade or push towards an A/A*.
As an incoming undergraduate at LSE studying Politics and International Relations, I also bring a strong focus on critical thinking, argument and clear communication to my teaching.
Most importantly, I want every lesson to be a space where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and improving.
Let’s work together to get you the grade you’re capable of!
