About Anya
I am a third-year English major in the University of British Columbia, and I have loved English for as long as I can remember. I started off with the Geronimo Stilton series as my first books and never looked back. I switched from Psychology to an English Literature major with an 80% average in my English courses.
I truly want to build a love for English in my students, as it is a seriously misunderstood subject. If I could, I would write essays for the rest of my life.

My typical lesson would focus around the text or task that you have been set- an essay on Octavia Butler, for example. I would read the texts that you are working on in school prior to the lesson and aid you in your interpretation and analysis of it. My goal isn't to give you the answers, but rather focus on pinpointing and expanding on your ideas, so that you can complete your work independently. I would also want to improve your grammar, vocabulary, and work on finding a voice in your writing. At the end of the day, I want you to enjoy English. The lessons would be aimed towards middle and high school students. Any skill level is welcome!
