About Ryan
I graduated from East Carolina University with a double-major in English and Philosophy. I then moved to Asia and taught English to students from as young as 3 years old to college students and professionals. Beyond teaching the language, I instructed fluent English-speaking students in reading comprehension, composition writing, grammar, spelling, and public speaking.
I am passionate about education and committed to helping students achieve their learning goals. I look forward to working with you!

No two students come to the table with the same background knowledge and understanding of the subject matter, so I do not have a set curriculum. I begin with a free consultation to review the student's work and discuss needs, timelines, etc. I then create lessons to according these learning targets.
Writing is a time-consuming process, so I break lessons up into pieces, focusing just on sections of a composition (introduction, conclusion, grammar, persuasive/descriptive language). I also focus on important habits such as planning and continuous editing. By the end, students should be equipped with tangible skills that give them confidence encountering writing tasks elsewhere.
