About Lily
I am an AP English student with a love for working with kids and helping them achieve their goals while still feeling fun, positive, and stress-free. I'm patient, upbeat, and love celebrating the little wins that lead to big progress! I would love to inspire a new generation of readers that their struggles do not have to be permanent and for them to keep growing their minds and imagination! One-on-one tutoring lessons for reading for pre-k or elementary students that need some extra help! This might include working on phonics, sounding out words, reading fluency, or just those who want more confidence in their reading! The methods and techniques I go for really depend on the student's level. Our first time meeting I would like to hear where you think your student struggles and what your goals are and I would give them a short assessment to see where the struggles are that we would need to work on. For newer readers or for those that are having a hard time getting started I would start with breaking down smaller words and eventually for those at a higher level I would move towards reading sentences and paragraphs with more complex words and enunciating punctuation. I like to have fun with the lessons to keep students engaged while still working towards our goals at the same time!
