I believe that no two learners are the same. My approach combines Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)—which gets you speaking from day one—with a Task-Based Learning focus. Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My methodology is rooted in Principled Eclecticism, meaning I adapt my teaching style to the specific goals of the student rather than sticking to one rigid format.
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): For general English, I focus on real-world communication and fluency, using role-plays and authentic materials like articles or videos to move beyond "textbook" English.
The PPP Framework: For exam preparation and grammar, I use Presentation, Practice, and Production to ensure new rules are clearly explained, drilled, and then used creatively in writing or speaking.
Task-Based Learning: I use "missions" (like planning a trip or solving a problem) to help students use the language naturally to achieve a goal.
A Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)
Every lesson is structured to maximize Student Talk Time (STT) and provide measurable progress.
Warm-up & Review (5-10 mins): An engaging activity to activate prior knowledge and review concepts from the previous session.
Introduction & Modeling (15 mins): Clear presentation of the day’s target (e.g., a specific IELTS essay structure or C2-level idioms) using visual aids or "think-alouds".
Guided Practice (20 mins): Interactive exercises, such as gap-fills or pair-work, where I provide immediate feedback and support.
Production & Task (15 mins): The student uses the new language independently in a realistic context, such as a mock exam speaking task or a short creative writing piece.
Cool-down & Feedback (5 mins): A summary of key takeaways and setting goals for independent study.
