About Sipho

I'm Sipho Sam, a lifelong lover of stories, words and the wonderful ways we express ourselves.

I was the older sibling who would read her little sister bedtime stories, then keep her awake asking what she thought about each page. I didn't just want her to hear the story; I wanted to know what she took from it, what she imagined and how it made her feel. Looking back, I think that's where my love of teaching really began.

Today, that same curiosity about people, stories and communication runs through my work. I run a digital strategy agency that helps businesses communicate their brands and create meaningful digital journeys. My work spans content strategy, knowledge management, Learning and Development, and customer experience.

I've contributed hundreds of published articles, worked on learning experiences for diverse audiences and helped turn complex information into something people can understand, connect with and use.

But beneath all those professional titles is something much simpler: I love language and what it makes possible.

I believe there's beauty hidden in every language, and the way we use words is unique to each of us. Language gives us the power to tell our stories, share our ideas and connect with people who might see the world differently. We all deserve to feel empowered to express ourselves, regardless of which language we're learning.

As someone who loves creative writing, poetry, songwriting and storytelling, I find learning about language endlessly exciting. But I also understand the frustration of having something to say and not quite knowing how to express it.

It's difficult when the words in your head don't translate into the words coming out of your mouth. That's why I want my lessons to be a space where you feel comfortable trying, making mistakes and finding your voice.

For me, teaching English isn't about making everyone sound the same or memorise a textbook. It's about helping you discover the words, expressions and confidence to communicate in your own way. Whether we're reading a story, practising everyday conversation or polishing your professional writing, I want you to leave feeling more capable of expressing who you are.

And if we can have a little fun, share a good story and learn something new along the way? Even better!

About the lesson

Ahoy, a little birdy told me you want to learn English!

My approach to tutoring is personal, creative and practical. I meet you where you are, adapt to your pace and build lessons around your goals, interests and everyday life.

Whether you want to speak more confidently, improve your writing or feel more comfortable using English, we’ll find an approach that works for you.

With a background in Learning and Development, communications, scriptwriting, ghostwriting and creative writing, I know how to turn complex concepts into simple, engaging learning experiences.

We can read books together, explore stories, practise everyday conversations, work on pronunciation and grammar, or develop your professional communication and writing skills. My lessons are a space where you can ask questions, experiment with language and make mistakes without feeling judged.

I also bring an AI-powered edge to my teaching. As an AI Implementation Specialist, I build custom AI GPTs that can support your learning between lessons, from basic proofreading to identifying writing errors and practising what you’ve learnt. I’ve also helped teams learn to adopt AI, so I understand how to make these tools practical and accessible. Think of it as having extra support between our sessions, without losing the personal guidance and feedback that make learning effective.

My lessons are designed primarily for adult learners, from beginners building their foundations to intermediate and advanced students refining their fluency, writing or professional communication. Every session is tailored to your level and goals, with practical activities and constructive feedback to help you progress.

English is my teaching language, and I am a Native English speaker. Above all, I want you to enjoy learning, recognise your progress and discover how confidently you can express yourself.
