About Nina
My name is Nina and I love teaching English. I've taught English for 15 years now in mainstream and private schools, and tutored for English for over 10 years. It is my passion. Despite how much the exams have changed and taken a lot of the joy away from such a prestigious subject, I still try to infused enthusiasm and enjoyment into the subject regardless.
Aside from teaching, I'm also an avid gardener, reader and film buff. I love being outdoors as much as I like a good book or action movie.

When I tutor, it is very different to when I teach at secondary school. The lessons are tailored to exactly what the student's needs are. We work together to establish what gaps in the learning the student has their ability is during exams and exam technique, (for either GCSE, A Level or 11+) and work on specific methods to help combat the needs. From creating writing frames for this struggling to teaching academic writing for A Level, I have strategies to adapt to all abilities to ensure students always make progress.
Generally speaking, tuition is more personal, gaining a stronger insight and investment in how the student learns which, in turn, fosters a stronger ability to support learning in a way that often isn't possible in a classroom setting.
Of all the students I have tutored for English, almost all attained their target grade or above. I am extremely proud of each and every one, and incredibly glad that I could help.
