About Juliet

My name is Juliet and I am a professional English teacher with nine years of experience, currently based in Highbury, north London. I am a native English speaker from south-east England. I offer tuition in English for students preparing for 11+, 13+ and English Language and Literature GCSE exams. I can also provide support for other English and Drama exams on request. I hold a Trinity Cert.TESOL and Young Learners Certificate from Oxford TEFL Prague, and provide structured language lessons which cover all aspects of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to students learning English as a foreign language. I also offer conversation based classes to those working at a higher level. Exam preparation, such as for IELTS, is also available. I teach both adults and children and have worked in the Czech Republic, Greece and the UK. I hold a current DBS check. I am currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire on the Dance Teaching and Learning Diploma (DDTAL). Juliet tutored my son to help prepare the 11+ / 13+ tests. She's very organised and efficient; they did a mix of grammar/ writing / comprehension exercises, as well as verbal reasoning. These sessions helped my son understand what was expected of him in these tests, especially in terms of writing and comprehension skills; he made regular progress and achieved a high level in all areas.
