I am currently pursuing my B.A. from UC Davis, and I have one year of tutoring experience through another college I attended previously. I have always loved English, and also love helping others. The combination of these two things makes me an effective tutor.

I tutor relying on the Socratic method, meaning I ask questions from tutees to elicit an answer and facilitate critical thinking. I have worked with all abilities, from beginning readers and ESL students, all the way to upper division, philosophy-infused English literature courses. I am gentle with tutees, I understand that it can be uncomfortable when a tutor or teacher is not patient. I have been on the receiving end of tutoring for math, and I know it's not always easy to reach out for help!
