About Teo
Hello, I'm Teo, currently working with a global charity focusing on children's education and rights and teaching English on the side. I started giving English lessons to foreign students and children years ago, moving from ad-hoc classes while studying my degrees in Psychology (BSc) and Computational Neuroscience (MSc) and continued teaching it in Spain, Portugal and the UK.
I have been teaching privately for about seven years and have had the pleasure to engage with students from all over the world, of all ages (from 3 years old to adults) and of all language levels!
With a background in Psychology, I have always been interested in how people communicate and acquire language (I myself speak four languages and am currently learning Arabic!). On the way, I have gained teaching techniques and materials with which I aid my students attain Trinity, Cambridge English and IELTS certificates with brilliant results.
However, I'm proudest of the improvements they made in writing and speaking skills. Since producing a new language can be daunting, I am incredibly glad of the efforts my students put in and the guidance they followed to achieve this !

Whether you want to prepare for an exam (such as Cambridge English), improve your English for your studies, practise your speaking, or you want to acquire the English language more fully, I have a lesson for you!
Each student is different. We learn differently, we have varying resources (especially time and attention) to give when we learn a new language, and we come with different experiences and linguistic capacities. Therefore, all lessons are geared towards your abilities, resources and long-term goals.
With beginners, I focus on slow, patient and clear exercises to support you solidify pronunciation, sounds, patterns, new words and sentences (especially those easily misunderstood phrasal verbs!). Step by step you will be able to understand more and produce more in the English language.
As for the more seasoned English learners, we will focus a lot more on comprehending bigger and more complex contexts (whether through reading or listening) and produce longer sentences, paragraphs and stories (in both writing and speaking).
