About Joanna
I believe enjoyment is the most important factor for success in learning a language. For this, a good grasp of grammar and a wide vocabulary are required, so that students can construct their own sentences and understand material and culture. Regular practice massively improves familiarity and comfort with a foreign language. In addition to helping improve grades, I hope to foster a genuine enjoyment of French and learning new languages.

In a first lesson I identify the student's stronger and weaker areas in the subject, so as to better plan and focus future lessons. Unless specific questions are provided by the student, a typical lesson would be divided into vocabulary (reading, writing and/or listening) focused on a specific topic, grammar and oral. I would also provide appropriate exercises for the student to work through. By reinforcing the vocabulary learnt through exercises immediately after introducing it, it is more easily memorable. Default lesson length is 1hr, but really up to the student
