About Yaiza
I am currently studying a Masters in Conference Interpreting at the University of Manchester. I have a degree in English Literature and Linguistics by the University of the Basque Country. During my four year degree, I taught English and Spanish to people of different ages, children, teenagers and adults. Last year I did a training course by the "Instituto Cervantes" in which they taught me different techniques to use when teaching Spanish. I am a Spanish native speaker and I have been living in Valencia for 17 years and in Vitoria for 5 years.

My teaching methodology depends on the needs of the student. I am happy to work with students of all ages. I focus my lessons on meaningful communication rather than just repeating memorized phrases or words. In my opinion, listening and speaking are the two most important skills in learning a language and I like to focus on them during my lessons unless the student decides otherwise. Also, I normally do a monthly assessment report with vocabulary, additional exercises, grammar and errors to correct, unless the student specifically disagrees with it. Finally, I also prepare for official exams (DELE, SIELE, CCSE, CELU).
