About Calla

With 4 years of tutoring experience and over 300 students taught, I bring a positive and encouraging approach to Guitar education. I work with High School students, College learners, and adults at all skill levels. My goal is to help students play confidently while keeping the learning process simple and enjoyable. My teaching philosophy focuses on clear communication, steady progress, and personalised learning. I believe a good guitar foundation can help students play any style they choose, so I emphasise core skills like posture, hand movement, chord accuracy, rhythm control, and simple improvisation. I also use real songs to explain techniques so students feel connected to what they learn. One of my biggest achievements is helping many beginners play their first complete song within weeks of practice. Some of my students have also taken part in school competitions and small stage performances. I aim to create a calm, supportive learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring music freely. I enjoy guiding students towards their goals—whether it’s playing casually, performing, or learning guitar as a new hobby. I am committed to helping every learner discover confidence and joy through music.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for Guitar is based on strong communication, understanding each student’s learning style, and using practical examples to make lessons clear and enjoyable. I believe that every student learns in their own unique way, so I always adjust my teaching method to match their pace, interests, and level of comfort. I start with essential guitar basics such as hand coordination, chord shapes, rhythm patterns, and smooth transitions. As students improve, I introduce more advanced techniques like scales, fingerpicking, improvisation, and melody building. To make lessons more relatable, I use real-life examples from songs, performances, and simple case studies showing how great guitarists apply certain techniques in their playing. Besides Guitar, I also teach related subjects including Music Theory, Ear Training, Basic Composition, Tablature Reading, Song Analysis, and Rhythm Studies. These subjects help students understand music deeply and become more confident players. Communication is always open in my classes. I encourage students to share their questions, goals, and musical interests. Whether they want to play soft acoustic music, energetic rock, emotional blues, or classical fingerstyle, I create personalised lesson plans that match their preferences. Every session includes clear explanations, demonstrations, and small practice goals that help students progress step by step. I also guide students on how to practice effectively at home, using short exercises that build skill without overwhelming them. Real-life examples and case studies make each lesson meaningful and show students how music works in real situations. My goal is not only to teach students how to play guitar, but to help them understand music in a simple and enjoyable way. Through good communication, adaptive teaching methods, and practical guidance, I support each student’s musical growth with patience and clarity.
