About Laura
I am a Sociology and Education student at the University of York. I have tutored for approximately a year now, and I love being able to see student's knowledge, skills, and confidence grow through their tutoring sessions. Every pupil, I believe, has the potential to achieve good grades. No matter who you are, you already have an understanding of society. That is the basis of all you need to succeed in Sociology.Using your existing knowledge as a base, we will work together to comprehend sociological theories, advance your sociological terminology and convey your knowledge in essay form. You can succeed, and I'd love to be there to help you with that.

Having completed over 130 hours of tutoring with a range of pupils, I have a wealth of experience catering to different learning styles and needs. Individual pupils' goals and learning preferences are always discussed prior to tutoring commencing. We will then work towards these goals through interactive activities, for example quizzes, illustration activities, comprehension activities and verbal questionning. The activities I choose will be personalised for each student, yet are all backed by research to ensure success. once subject content is mastered, I will often guide pupils through exam questions to develop their mastery in exam skills. Learning is regularly reviewed by both myself and the pupil.
