About Mmereko, Emley

I have three degrees from both South Africa and UK; and I am a qualified teacher with Primary, Higher Education and English as Foreign Language (EFL) Certificates.

I am an Accredited ETDP SETA Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator.

I take time to connect meaningfully with my students. I am a caring and compassionate person - this helps me to truly understand my students' needs and therefore strive to plan the success orientated lessons.

I have a variety of interests and remain committed to improving my teaching skills.

About the lesson

My students say that they love my classes because I offer relevant, current lessons in a relaxed learning environment. I am professional and highly organised.

My teaching styles encourage my students to be active in class. For example, I introduce a topic which is of interest to the students or I give them a video to listen to, at home; and then let them participate during class. This gives us time for classroom activities - that way no one misses out from learning. I use appropriate learner support materials and techniques.

My classes, be it English, Afrikaans or Sesotho, focus on language components: vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation as well as language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking.
