About JOAN
Hello! My name is Joan MJ, and I’m a passionate and caring tutor with a strong desire to support and inspire young children in their early learning journey. Having recently completed my A-levels, I know the value of a strong educational foundation — and that foundation starts in Reception and Key Stage 1. I’ve always enjoyed being around children and helping them learn in creative, gentle, and playful ways. Whether it’s guiding them through their first words or celebrating small achievements in reading and writing, I find it incredibly fulfilling to make a positive difference in a child’s confidence and growth. I want to become a teacher for young kids because I believe that early education should be filled with encouragement, fun, and care. These are the years where children develop curiosity and self-belief, and I want to be someone who nurtures that spark in every child I teach. My style is friendly, patient, and supportive — perfect for children who need a little extra time or simply want to enjoy learning in a relaxed, happy space. Every lesson is tailored to suit their pace and personality. I’m here to help your little one build a love for learning from the very beginning!

I specialise in phonics, reading fluency, early writing skills, and vocabulary development — all delivered through engaging, gentle, and creative lessons. I understand how important it is for young learners to feel safe, encouraged, and excited while learning. I use visual aids, storytelling, fun games, and repetition to help your child develop confidence in their early literacy skills.
