Mariam actually started by tutoring my little sister who’s 9. I honestly didn’t think much of it, but as a non-native speaker myself she managed to see opportunity in me when I told her about taking my IELTS test. With Mariam’s help I managed to get my score up from a 5 to a 7.5, the combination of genuine love of teaching combined with the dedication she clearly has to push her students further us not something to overlook.

Mariam has a pleasant teaching style she uses a variety of techniques in tutoring that helps the learner to engage in the learning process. She is passionate about her work.

I’m Arab but I was born and raised in London. Growing up, I felt minimal connection to my culture, being unable to speak my mother tongue regardless of many attempts only intensified those feelings. It was like a void I needed to fill and Mariam helped me do that. With her excellent bilingual tutoring she was able to help set me up with a linguistic foundation in Arabic. She made sure to challenge me by communicating with me solely in Arabic. We’ve been working together for two years and I can confidently say that being thrown in the deep end like that has catapulted my skills in Arabic. This year I plan to surprise the love of my life, a beautiful women from Syria whom I met in medical school, by proposing to her in perfect Arabic. It’s all thanks to mariam! Wish me luck
